Part of the Mother's Day celebration program at the twins' preschool today involved each of the kids saying what they loved about their moms.
Small Fry shyly said, "I love hugging and kissing my mommy." Unsurprising, from my very tactile child.
"'I love my mommy because...'" their teacher prompted Medium Fry.
"I love my mommy because she's pretty!" Medium gushed.
I give out hugs and kisses and I'm pretty.
I can live with that.
Why just live with that? Why not THRIVE with that? Such things really minister to the heart, melt it and build your self-esteem.
ReplyDeleteVery true, and I love it! The practical part of me would like to know that I'm loved for more than just my looks, but I also know that Medium is five. "Pretty" is a big thing now. And I know they do love me for more than my looks.
DeleteI figure I've got another five years or so before I'm a terrible embarrassment. ;)
